Nothing to Offer, But what do you have to offer? The New Birth

"Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee". (Psalm 141:1)

Nicodemus came to Jesus in the middle of the night (John 3:1-21). The centurion came in the middle of the day (Matthew 8:5-13). The leper and the sinful woman appeared in the middle of crowds (Luke 7:36-50) Zacchaeus appeared in the middle of a tree (Luke 19:1-10). Matthew had a party for him (Matthew 9:10).

The educated. The powerful. The rejected. The sick. The lonely. The wealthy. Who would ever assemble such a crew? All they had in common were their empty hope chests, long left vacant by charlatans and profiteers. Though they had nothing to offer, they asked for everything: a new birth, a second chance, a fresh start, a clean conscience. And without exception their requests were honoured.

Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: Nicodemus was one of those impressed by Jesus’ signs (John 2:23), and a member of the ruling Sanhedrin. He was religious (of the Pharisees), educated (Nicodemus is a Greek name), influential (a ruler), and earnest enough to come by night. Nicodemus came to Jesus as a representative of all men (John 2:23-25), and in a sense he represented what is highest and best in men. b. This man came to Jesus by night: Perhaps Nicodemus came by night because he was timid, or perhaps he wanted an uninterrupted interview with Jesus.

For you to get the new birth you have to give your life to Christ by accepting him

In the book of Romans 6:1 says: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

If you have answer those question and you have never given your life to Christ before, why not please do now and ask of him and if you have given your life before and backslide as well the chance is there for you. Remember....."It is Choice, not chance that determine human destiny".

Now let’s begin, say

Lord Jesus Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Because thou desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shall make me to know wisdom. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me IN JESUS NAME.
