Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you. But Jesus said, Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. Luke 22:33-34

I pray to be a good servant to God, a father, a husband, a son, a friend, a brother, an uncle, a good neighbour, a good leader to those who look up to me, a good follower to those who are serving God and doing the right thing.

Peter was no doubt ignorant of the fact that “Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat" (Luke 22:30). Satan wanted to completely crush and defeat Peter. Apparently, Satan wanted to do much more against Peter than the Lord would allow; and Satan could not do whatever he wanted against Peter, but he must ask.

What prevented Satan from having his way with Peter had nothing to do with Peter. It was because of Jesus’ prayers on Peter’s behalf.

Some people are afraid of what they might find if they try to analyze themselves too much, but you have to crawl into your wounds to discover where your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin. The ability to function well under pressure and in a crisis, keeping our cool in a crisis means to practice patience and self-control under difficult or disappointing circumstances.

Sometimes you have to do what you don’t like to get where you want to be.

Jesus told Peter the truth about himself and the situation not to discourage him, but to let him know there is a spiritual reality and a spiritual battle that he is unaware of, but that Jesus knew well.

Don't let anything hold you back in achieving your dreams, you got to get it while you can.
