Bible Text: "Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel" (Philippians 1:27).

We may be surprised at the people we going to find in heaven (Luke 23:39-43). God has a soft spot for sinners. His standards are quite low. You may be the lowest level of what is right, it is better than the highest level of what is wrong.

Paul wanted the Philippians to know they were accountable before him. He would check up on them. Just as I will be accountable for every word of the gospel I preach and write to you. Paul wanted to know that the Philippian church stayed together as one body, without becoming fragmented and fractionalized.

In case if you don’t know what to do when in doubt, pray to God and if your fear is bigger than your faith and you need someone to talk to, you are welcome (ifnotforgod.official@gmail.com).

Paul wanted their unity to be put to a productive purpose, so that an increasing trust and belief in the good news of Jesus Christ would be promoted among those who already believed and among those who had yet to believe.

If the Philippians had Paul’s kind of conflict, they could also have Paul’s kind of joy and fruit in the midst of it. Should we be distressed because our churches will be half empty if the Gospel were preached the way it should?
